What is the HUBBARd's
CUPBOARD Program?
Hubbard’s Cupboard
Students without access to adequate resources often face insurmountable challenges. When students have the tools necessary to achieve, the possibilities are endless. In fact, according to the 2024 Educator Survey Impact Report conducted by Crayons to Computers, teachers observe that once school supplies are available:
• 89% say students are more engaged in learning as a result
• 82% see students' self-esteem increase
• 96% say the products received from Crayons allow them to enrich their students' learning experiences
Hubbard's Cupboard, in collaboration with Crayons to Computers, is a physical location within our selected schools that provides essential support by addressing immediate student needs —whether it's providing a new backpack for the start of the school year or offering a healthy snack to get through a long day. Each Cupboard is regularly stocked throughout the year with essential school supplies, hygiene products, and nutritious snacks. By doing so, Hubbard's Cupboard directly supports both teachers and students, ensuring that every child has the tools they need to succeed.
We’ve received heartwarming feedback from those we serve:
- "It's a place where students and staff feel like they are being taken care of, which at this time, is rare. Also, the gentleman that stocks it is so nice and always makes us feel appreciated. We consider him one of us and enjoy seeing him when he is here."
-
"I appreciate that it is restocked often. The access to school supplies and snacks is a great asset to our school. The kids are always motivated by food."
-
"That students and staff can access various things that they need. I think it enhances our students' ability to learn and be engaged during class because their needs are met. We often have students that miss meals and so it's very important to us that they have access to snacks through Hubbard's Cupboard.”
